Belgium-based EXMAR announced that it has taken delivery of World’s First Barge-Based floating LNG storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) and that it secured long-term employment for the unit.
EXMAR took delivery of the world’s first barge-based floating LNG storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) from the Wison Shipyard in Nantong, PRC. The unit incorporates a re-gasification capacity of up to 600MMSCFD and a storage capacity of 26,000 m³ of LNG.
Additionally, EXMAR confirmed that long-term employment for the FSRU has been secured with an disclosed part, with its operation starting from mid-2018 onwards.
EXMAR will provide further details on the contract in the coming future, along with the customer.
