EU ATALANTA provides details about an attempted hijack incident that took place on May 10th, in the Gulf of Aden, off Somalia.
In particular, on May 10th, an attempted hijack incident involving the Marshall Islands-flagged Merchant Vessel Chrystal Arctic occurred 100 nautical miles north of Bosaso, Somalia. Following the event, six suspected pirates were apprehended by ATALANTA forces and received medical treatment for injuries of varying severity.
Subsequently, evidence gathered by ATALANTA forces led to the classification of the incident as a piracy attack. In response, one of the ATALANTA warships transported the six suspects, allegedly from Somalia, to Seychelles for further legal proceedings.

Seychelles, as part of the operational area, has a legal agreement with Operation ATALANTA permitting the trial of suspected pirates arrested by participating warships.
