The Panama Canal Authority advises that the following Neopanamax vessels require additional tug assistance while transiting the Canal:
- Neopanamax LNG carriers require escort tug assistance through Gatun Lake and in the Pacific and Atlantic channels. This extraordinary tug assistance is charged under tariff item #1020.5066 of the ACP Marine Tariff for each escort tug.
- Neopanamax vessels transiting with a displacement for transit of 120,000 metric tones or more require escort tug assistance through Gatun Lake. This extraordinary assistance is charged under tariff item #1020.5067 of the ACP Marine Tariff.
