The Oldendorff Carriers’ ship Erna Oldendorff made contact with the Oshima bridge on her way to Etajima, Japan. No people were hurt and there are no reports of pollution at this time.
After the incident Oldendorff Carriers informed all relevant authorities and parties.
The vessel is currently following instructions of the Japanese Coast Guard and has moved to a safe anchorage.
The cause of the accident is still unknown, while the Japanese Coast Guard is conducting an investigation to which Oldendorff Carriers is also helping.
Regardless of the full details of the cause of the incident Oldendorff Carriers would like to apologise for the disruption caused to anyone as a result of the unfortunate events.
