DNV GL has developed a new SaaS (software-as-a-service) version of the QHSE solution Synergi Life, based on industry expertise, supporting consistent reporting and systematic follow-up of incidents in smaller organizations in order to address HSE challenges that face businesses in unconventional oil and gas which can negatively affect operational risk.
HSE for unconventional oil and gas
Oil and gas companies need consistently reported information so they can monitor, track, investigate and analyze incidents in order to identify root causes, establish preventive actions and ensure compliance with requirements. Organizations that lack staff, time and resources may not have systems in place that enable them to easily recognize and act upon trending data. Many use a combination of various documents and spreadsheets, including Excel, Word, and email, making it difficult to consistently track and analyse data. These organizations may be exposed to increased risk of operational incidents and accidents. In addition, OSHA (the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration) recently finalized new rules for certain high-risk industries on electronic data submission relating to HSE, effective January 1, 2017.
The new SaaS version of Synergi Life is a cloud-based solution designed to offer immediate HSE (health, safety and environment) support to organizations within unconventional oil and gas, significantly improving business processes tracking incidents and accidents. It is a system designed for unconventional oil and gas and developed with input from HSE professionals working within the industry.
Reducing upfront investment and support costs The SaaS version of Synergi Life is based on the proven solution from DNV GL for managing QHSE. Synergi Life’s enterprise risk management system is used by over 350 companies worldwide, with more than 750,000 users across a number of industries.
The solution provides a secure and cloud-based alternative to on-site installations of a HSE application. Built on the Microsoft Azure platform and available via a monthly or annual subscription model, the SaaS solution allows oil and gas organizations to quickly implement and benefit from a system specifically designed for small to medium sized enterprises, reducing upfront capital investment and ongoing support costs.
“Professional and HSE management is a prerequisite in today’s business environment with a zero tolerance for failure. With this release DNV GL is offering an industry-specific and cloud-based solution that offers wide deployment and access. This releases our users from the burden of infrastructure such as hardware and in-house IT and system operations,”says Are Føllesdal Tjønn, CEO, Software at DNV GL.
