The meeting in the Danish-Korean Green Growth Alliance focuses on green shipping and offshore. It is arranged by the Danish Maritime Authority under the Ministry for Business and Growth, in cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Embassy in Seoul, the Danish Shipowners’ Association, and Danish Maritime.
“We are proud and pleased to host the 3rd meeting in the Danish-Korean Green Growth Alliance, which was opened by the Danish and Korean prime ministers.
The meeting focuses on green shipping and offshore – both of which are areas that make for an excellent match between Denmark and Korea. Korea has a stronghold on the shipbuilding side, and in Denmark we have a strong shipping sector and leading manufacturers of green technology and products being used aboard the ships”, says Andreas Nordseth, Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority.
The meeting will highlight maritime knowhow and technology, and will see participation from a number of representatives from Danish and Korean companies.
Denmark and Korea enjoy close cooperation in the field of maritime policy. The bilateral cooperation was further strengthened when Denmark and Korea entered into two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the spring of 2012. On the basis of these two MoUs, the groundwork was laid down for increased cooperation. The purpose of the two MoUs is, inter alia, to strengthen the cooperation between the Danish shipping industry and the Korean shipbuilding industry in the field of green shipping.
