Damen informed that the MV Tasmanic Winter has nearly concluded its voyage from China to Rotterdam, via the Northern Sea Route, with 24 new vessels on board.
For the first time Damen chose to ship the vessels through the Northern Sea route along Russia’s north coast, which can reduce the journey time by up to eight days compared with the traditional southern route.
On board the MV Tasmanic Winter there are a number of tugs, which are expected to arrive at Rotterdam on 28 October 2018.
This is Damen’s second batch-shipment in 2018. In April, the heavy lift vessel MV Lone arrived in Rotterdam from Shanghai with 11 Damen Pontoons on board.
Damen is considering the use of the Northern Sea Route to cut delivery times.
