News alert by the UK P&I Club
The UK P&I Club has issued news alert to warn operators with vessels calling in Egypt until the end of November 2013, to bear in mind that all travel is reestricted during curfew hours.
Although the situation in Egypt is gradually returning to normal after several months of political unrest, curfews are still in place between the hours of 01:00 and 05:00 every day with the exception of Fridays, where the curfew is extended to the hours of 19:00 to 05:00.
Other than complying with curfew timings, it is reported that travel in Egypt has returned to previous levels of safety.
