The containership MSC Elaine was successfully refloated after becoming stranded at the port of Gioia Tauro, obstructing access to the large container port in southern Italy.
The ship, assisted by several tugs managed to break free from the breakwater barrier, reaching the mooring dock to undergo all the necessary technical checks.
There was no serious damage to the ship.

Reports claim that the vessels was outbound from the port when it apparently swung wide on a turn and grounded along a breakwater at the harbor’s entrance.
