Four shipping containers containing food products caught fire at the Port of Oakland, on April 21 night, as the Oakland Fire Department battalion chief informed. No injuries were reported, while the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Oakland firefighters received a call at about 7 p.m. on April 21, according to Battalion Chief Demond Simmons, informing about the fire.
Namely, the containers that were near the intersection of Seventh and Maritime Streets at the port, had been positioned to be loaded onto truck trailers when they caught fire.
After the incident was reported, twenty four firefighters took action for about, trying to extinguish the fire.
Luckily, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, while the owner of the containers or their cargo is unknown.
The cause is currently being investigated.
