Freight volumes at the Port of Gothenburg increased during 2018, as container traffic, car figures and energy product flows all increased, when compared to the same time last year.
As a matter of fact, container traffic increased by 20% compared with the last year, while energy product flows remained consistently strong. In addition, rail traffic also increased by 7%.
New car figures were up by 4%, but they now appear to be levelling off at a high level.
In addition, energy products totalled 17.7 million tonnes, which is an increase of 2% on the same period last year.
Finally, intra-european ro-ro traffic remained unchanged, in the same time when new car movements presented a rise of 4%, in spite of a slight fall in September.
