Bureau Veritas and aerospace company APSYS have launched a cyber security service for the oil and gas industry.
The service evaluates the exposure of products and industrial systems to cybersecurity threats, provides handling and response to cyber security incidents and cyber risk and vulnerability assessments.
As oil and gas companies increase connectivity and remote access in search of higher performance, they also increase their vulnerability to cyber security threats. Cyber attacks use malicious code to alter computer code, logic or data to facilitate information and identity theft, system infiltration, intellectual property theft and unauthorized access. To be protected against these threats, companies have to deploy robust cyber security strategies and programs.
APSYS, an Airbus Group subsidiary, has developed unique expertise in cyber security issues affecting embedded information systems and industrial control systems. In partnership with Bureau Veritas, APSYS will assist with the implementation of risk treatment plans and risk reduction approaches, to allow Bureau Veritas clients to control the security of assets and persons, the availability and integrity of offshore installations and service
