The Busan Port Authority (BPA) concluded an agreement so as to develop a smart maintenance system facility and boost digitalization at the port.
According to the BPA, CEO Nam Ki-chan, the inked agreement goals to establish a smart maintenance system for the port along with 4 relevant entities.
In fact, BPA, Korea Maritime & Oceans University, Busan Metropolitan City, Dong-A University, Busan Technopark joined forces with an aim to incorporate smart technologies into the maintenance of port facilities, in line with the government’s Digital New Deal Initiatives.
BPA is implementing Busan Port’s sustainable development strategies in line with the Digital New Deal and Green New Deal Initiatives. The adoption of smart management system will work as an opportunity for new innovation.

Through their collaboration, participants will work together to establish a data system and to preemptively secure data usage basis that can be utilized for the maintenance of port facilities in the long run.
For the records, the MoU was signed on Sept. 2 at the International Meeting Room of the Korea Maritime and Oceans University in order to enhance port safety and promote smooth and smart port operations.
