Taslim Imad

Taslim is a UK Master Mariner (Unlimited) with over 28 years of experience in the shipping industry. He joined Steamship Mutual’s Loss Prevention team in 2019 after a long sailing career on a variety of ships, including senior seagoing experience on Container and Ro-Ro Freight and Cruise ships. He has also worked aboard General Cargoes, Bulk Carriers, LPG, Dredgers, and Buoy Tenders. He has a full understanding of statutory, operational, commercial, and safety & quality management on board ships from his sailing experience, and he has solid expertise on the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Conventions & Codes, Flag Administrations regulatory requirements, IACS & Class Rules, and Commercial Ship Management from his shore-based experience. Taslim holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA -Shipping & Logistics) qualification from Lloyds Maritime Academy, in addition to his Master Mariner qualification, seagoing and shore-based experience. Taslim is also an ISM Lead Auditor as well as a Technical Support Risk Assessor.
