The video presents Baijnath Melaram’s new offshore crane that facilitates ship recycling in India, without contaminating the water.
In particular, video informs that one of the major issues, when it comes to ship recycling, is that some parts of the vessels cannot be dropped inside the ship, so they fall into the water, affecting marine life. The gigantic crane addresses exactly to this issue, as it is located in a floating bar situated 75 meters from the tidal zone, making it easier to reach extreme parts of the vessel.
The 180-feet crane, with a capacity of 150 metric tons, is the only one in India that can reach the Aft of any vessel.
