The Port of Amsterdam informed that the additional charges on the storage and transhipment of ethanol in Amsterdam have stopped and that the Port can now charge the same prices as Port of Rotterdam. This enables Amsterdam to compete in the global ethanol market.
As the Port of Rotterdam said, this is good news, especially for the liquid bulk-handling company NWB, which stores ethanol and bioethanol. Amsterdam has been listed in daily price quotations for ethanol since April 2017.

The recent investment in the new NWB pier increased the terminal’s capacity, something that means that it can now welcome larger ships carrying ethanol.
This has established new opportunities in the rising market segment of biofuels.
