The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for four missing people after a fishing boat sank off the coast of Alaska, on 28th May.
As informed, one person has been confirmed dead, and the body has been recovered. The boat was found intact and partly submerged, raising unanswered questions about the nature of the casualty.
According to International news, Kingfisher Charters, a Sitka-based company that operates fishing trips, reported the missing vessel to the Coast Guard on Sunday evening. The vessel was last seen on Sunday afternoon near Kruzof Island, less than 10 miles from the small rocky island where the ship was found, according to the Coast Guard.
The vessel was found undamaged but partly submerged off Low Island, about 10 miles west of Sitka. One individual’s body was found about 100 yards away.
Despite our best efforts and those of several partner agencies, we were not able to find the four remaining individuals.
