The French Maritime Prefecture of the North Sea issued a short video providing an aerial view of the cargo vessel ‘Britannica Hav’, which is currently capsized in the English Canal, north of Le Havre.
The fishing vessel ‘Deborah’ collided with the general cargo ship ‘Britannica Hav’ in the afternoon of 20th March, northeast of Cherbourg, causing the latter to capsize,due to sustained breached portside with ensuing water ingress. All crew are reported safe. The fishing vessel’s skipper was reportedly slightly injured as a result from the incident.
The upturned vessel is under control and is being towed towards the port of Le Havre.
