The construction of the world’s largest plug-in hybrid ship “Color Hybrid” reached an important milestone on 16 April, as the assembly of the 14 large blocks started, at Crist in Gdynia, Poland.
The ship will be the world’s largest battery-hybrid ship when entering into service between Sandefjord and Strømstad in June 2019. The ship is contracted by Color Line at Ulstein Verft and it will be delivered to Color Line in May 2019.
The start of assembly is important in the construction of a ship and the milestone was celebrated with the traditional lucky coin ceremony.

The world’s largest plug-in hybrid ship will be 160 metres in length and have a capacity of 2,000 passengers and about 500 cars. The ship also presents an increased capacity on the line between Norway and Sweden.
