The blaze had been put out by the time crews arrived
Emergency services were called to Falmouth at 11am yesterday after oil caught light on the car transporter the Republic of Brazilia.
The blaze had been put out by the time crews arrived, but firefighters said it could have been “much worse” if nearby equipment had ignited.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service watch manager Stuart Williams said: “They were welding near the hydraulics and if the fire had spread to that it would have affected that oil too.”
