Wallenius Wilhelmsen announced that it has signed a contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard Co. for the construction of four methanol dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) and up to eight optional units.
As explained, the contract for 9,350 CEU newbuilds was signed in Hong Kong and it is the first next-generation vessels expected to start being delivered in the second half of 2026.
The contract was signed by their COO of Shipping Services and CEO of EUKOR, Xavier Leroi, and Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd., Tiger Wu.
To remind, on August, Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a letter of intent for four Shaper Class methanol-capable and ammonia-ready car carriers.
