A merchant vessel reported a missile hitting the water near the ship 52 nautical miles south of Yemen’s port of Aden, as per the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
Despite the incident, the crew was reported safe and the vessel continued to its next destination. This event is part of a broader pattern of disruptions to global trade caused by Houthi attacks. These attacks have led ship owners to reroute vessels away from the Suez Canal, a crucial trade route, and have provoked retaliatory strikes from the U.S. and Britain since February.
