A teenage passenger aboard the cruise ship MSC Seashore fell to his death, in what is believed to be a suicide last week.
As MSC Cruises reported, as the Seashore was on the return leg of a five-day Caribbean voyage, the young man sustained a fatal fall on the vessel’s port side.
At first, an alarm on board announced a man-overboard situation, and following protocol, all passengers were asked to return to their staterooms and clear public spaces.
However, the Miami-Dade Police informed that the fatal fall took place inboard of the rails. According to some passengers of the ship, the victim jumped from Deck 16, striking Deck 8 without reaching the water.
The death is believed to be a suicide says MSC, with the Miami-Dade Police believing that there is no reason to suspect foul play.
All of us at MSC Cruises are heartbroken. The family remains in our thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be discussing any additional details
