NGOs call port of Rotterdam to end coal transshipments

Europe Beyond Coal groups and other NGOs, including Greenpeace and German Watch, have called on the Mayor of Rotterdam, Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb; the CEO of Rotterdam Port, Mr. Allard Castelein; and the Rotterdam City Council, to phase-out coal transshipments, to mark the end of coal use in Europe.

Oldendorff conducts trial transshipment in the Andaman Islands

Trina Oldendorff transhiped 25,000 mt of coal into the M/V Spar Rigel for transport to the Indian port of Haldia, where there is a maximum draft restriction of about 7.5 metres. The Trina Oldendorff then proceeded to discharge part of the remaining cargo in India.

Moody's: Cut in container handling tariff negative for Shanghai port

The Port of Gdansk Authority announced that the 1st half of 2017 was a record in terms of transshipments, achieving a value several percent higher than in the same period of 2016. The increase was noted in fuels and general cargo, particularly containers and ro-ro type cargo.

Coal transshipment hub introduced in South Vietnam

An alliance consisted of Welhunt, Oldendorff Carriers and Haivan will position a Floating Transfer Platform in South Vietnam capable of discharging and loading all bulk carriers at a discharge rate of up to 25,000 metric tonnes per day. This platform will be the first and only multi-user facility in Vietnam and is specifically designed to handle growing coal imports.
