Rolls-Royce announced that the first two pre-production units of the new mobile MTU gas engine have successfully completed their performance tests and were accepted by the shipping company Rederij Doeksen at the beginning of December.

The 12-cylinder X92DF engines will power the series of nine containerships, all exceeding 22,000 TEU in capacity and ordered by CMA CGM at Chinese yards, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. earlier this year.
