On 8 April, a cargo vessel collided with a Vietnamese fishing boat in the Gulf of Bắc Bộ, Vietnam, resulting in four fatalities. 

A collision between a Philippine-flagged tugboat M/TUG Sadong 33 and a Panamanian-flagged vessel MV Universe Kiza occurred near Maasim, Sarangani Province, at around 4:20 AM on March 25, 2025, causing the loss of life of two. 

Missing crew search was called off after 24 hours have passed since the two vessels collided in the North Sea, with both ships still ablaze.

MPA Singapore was alerted to a distress call from a tanker on 12 January, reporting that it was taking in water.

Rio Tinto confirmed that a deck fitter on board RTM Zheng He was reported missing on 26 December 2024 with search operations continuing.
