Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has participated in the official ceremony of hoisting the RF national flag on a new diesel-electric icebreaker Vladivostok of project 21900 М.The ceremony was held on 23 September 2015 at Naberezhnaya Leitenanta Shmidta, St. Petersburg in the frame of the International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences of Russia - NEVA 2015.The ceremony was attended by General Director of Vyborg Shipyard PJSC Alexander Soloviev, Deputy Minister of Transport Viktor Olerskiy, Acting Head of Rosmorrechflot Sergei Gorelik, USC President Aleksei Rakhmanov, Vice-Governor of the Leningrad Region Dmitrii Yalov and other officials. RS CEO Sergey Sedov spoke at the ceremony on behalf of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.According to Sergey Sedov, for many years the Russian classification society has been developing high standards of maritime safety for icebreakers and ice class ships, enabling the RS to successfully participate and contribute to the implementation of the programme for the icebreaker fleet construction in Russia."RS has been performing technical supervision of icebreakers and ice class ships for over a hundred years.
