New bunker terminal to be built at Port of Duqm

Oman Oil Marketing Company has secured board approval for constructing an in-port bunker terminal at the Port of Duqm on the Sultanate's Al Wusta coast. The permission regards 30,000 cubic metres of tankage capacity along with the necessary ancillary equipment and facilities. What is more, Oman Oil Marketing Company has developed four more service stations in the Duqm area.

The Maritime Administration of the Marshall Islands issued an advisory concerning vessels operating in or near the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman. The note highlights that many are the countries that conduct naval exercises and operations in these areas. Thus, this advisory supplements information and navigation warnings routinely provided by other sources.

Oman’s gas production to surpass oil by 2023

Rystad Energy expects Oman’s gas production levels to exceed oil by 2023, due to an impressive increase in the development of gas fields in the sultanate. Namely, Oman's oil-gas production mix will shift from around 35% gas in 2015 to more than 50% in 2025. Rystad Energy also estimates that by 2025 oil production will decrease by 200,000 bpd more, as output from older fields continues to fall.
