UK P&I Club informs about an oil spill incident. Namely, a tanker was ready to load a petroleum product cargo at an offshore anchorage by ship to ship transfer (STS). During the operation, the cargo hose ruptured causing oil to spray on deck and overboard. A small quantity of oil was released into the sea, because of the effective response of the crew.

The US Coast Guard informed that it responded to an oil spill near Tabbs Bay, Texas, on Wednesday June 27. Namely, about 40 barrels of crude oil were discharged from a deteriorated valve on a platform owned by Siempre Energy. The source has been secured and an estimated 25 barrels of crude oil have been recovered until now.

After the 'Bow Jubail' made contact with a jetty in the Port of Rotterdam on June 23, it ruptured the hull, spilling about 217 tons of heavy fuel oil. The port authority along with emergency services started mitigation measures and have a now cleaned a large amount of the oil spilled.

After the oil spill that was reported at the Port of Rotterdam, the port authority along with emergency services installed oil booms around the vessel as quickly as possible to prevent the further spread of the oil. The installation was successful but some of the oil had already spread beyond the incident area. 

While going to its assigned berth for loading, the 'Bow Jubail' made contact with the jetty and accidentally ruptured the hull, on June 23. As result, about 217 tons of heavy fuel oil were released from the fuel tank. The leakage has now stopped, and there is no risk of further spills. The company has established an Incident Investigation Team to identify the root courses.

US Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call at 6:29 p.m. Thursday about a 61-foot motor vessel hitting the Breton Sound 18 production platform. This caused the spill of about 840 gallons of crude oil from the platform. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.

Namibia hosted a series of events addressing oil spill preparedness and response, with two back to back workshops in Swakopmund, from 22 to 24 May and from 28 to 31 May. The workshops aimed to improve the national preparedness and response system in the country. The workshop was organized by the Global Initiative for West, Central and Southern Africa.

A discharge of synthetic based mud was reported from the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit Transocean Barents on April 27. Drilling operations were suspended by Suncor Energy, to investigate the cause of the discharge, and now the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board began an investigation into the incident.

After dielectric oil was leaded in the Mystic River near the Alford St. bridge, Eversource identified the location of the leak on Sunday, May 6. To do that, gas was released into the pipe to help identify the leak during a freeze test. A crack in the electrical pipe underground, under the I-93 bypass in Somerville, was the source of the dielectric oil.

The Chilean Navy responded to a fuel spill on Easter Island. Namely, on April 25, while the motorboat "Lago Icalma" was anchored in the bay of Hanga Roa, unloading, when its barge ruptured the hull near a fuel tank, causing the fuel to spill. The causes of the oil spill are still unknown, and the Maritime Authority of Chile will conduct an investigation on the incident.
