Two actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (both CAT 4) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 12th – 18th December 2023.

Maltese-flagged bulk carrier named MV Ruen was boarded by six unknown attackers on 14 December, likely Somali pirates, in the Arabian Sea.

One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 4) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 5th - 11th December 2023. 

One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 4) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 28 November - 4 December  2023.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has published its Monthly Piracy Report for the month of October.

IMO has signed a €2 million agreement with Germany to boost implementation of the Yaoundé Code of Conduct (YCC), under which countries in West and Central Africa have committed to tackle piracy, armed robbery against ships, and illicit maritime activity in the region.

Two actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (one CAT 3 and one CAT 4) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 21st – 27th November 2023.

Two actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (one CAT 2 and one CAT 4) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 14th - 20th November 2023. 

Over the past week, no incident of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 8th – 13rd November 2023.
