A fishing vessel company that operated in and around American Samoa was sentenced for maintaining false and incomplete records relating to the discharge of oil and garbage, the US Department of Justice informed. The fishing vessel responsible for the pollution is owned by Yuh Fa Fishery (Vanuatu) Co. Ltd.

The US Coast Guard issued a $5,000 fine to the owners of a foreign freight vessel, for unauthorized ballast water discharge into the Willamette River in Portland, after a routine port state control ballast water examination, on August 16.

The companies conducted monopolistic practices, by agreeing and executing agreements to segment the market for motor vehicle shipping services, according to the Federal Commission of Economic Competition of Mexico.

On May 29, an Auckland ferry company, Fullers Group, was fined $40,000 and ordered to pay reparations of $90,000, after passengers were injured when the Auckland ferry Kea collided with Victoria wharf at Devonport on 17 February 2015, Maritime New Zealand informed.
