Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are increasingly playing a significant role in the investment decisions of marine stakeholders while more and more maritime companies are putting their own ESG reporting strategies into practice.

Developing an ESG strategy can feel overwhelming and challenging but with the right tools and practices, organizations can create a plan that supports risk management and promotes positive impact.

Samsung Heavy Industries announced its intention to introduce electric vehicles for commercial use at its shipyard in Geoje. As part of Korea's transition to zero-emission vehicles, which it joined in February, the shipyard has so far installed 15 electric trucks and one electric passenger car while members have committed to converting all of their personal and company vehicles to zero emissions by 2030.
