The Norwegian Parliament approved the plan for development and operation of the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea, on Monday 11 June. The plan will now be submitted to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for formal approval. The field will be operated by Equinor, and its first oil scheduled for 2022.

The transition to a more sustainable energy system is too slow. A sustainable development path, consistent with the Paris Agreement target, does not allow for further delays in policy, industry and consumer action to reduce emissions, according to Equinor's new Energy Perspectives report.

The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative and Brazil's Petrobras announced that the Brazilian company will join the initiative. This commitment is subject to the approval of the OGCI Climate Investments Members’ Agreement by the Petrobras Board of Directors.

Aker Solutions announced that it will deliver a subsea production system, which includes two manifolds and nine trees for the Troll development in the North Sea. The system for Askeladd in the Barents Sea will be comprised of two manifolds and four trees.
