Statoil to explore offshore Mozambique

An Eni-led partnership with Statoil has submitted a winning bid on the A5-A block offshore Mozambique in the fifth competitive bidding round. The A5-A block is located in the Northern Zambesi basin in the Angoche area about 1,500km north of the capital Maputo. The block covers an area of 5,145 square kilometres in water depths ranging from 200 to 1800 meters.Eni is the operator of the Joint Venture with 34% participating interest. Partners are Statoil and Sasol with 25,5% each and  ENH with 15%.The minimum work program includes seismic and three commitment wells.“The Angoche area is a very promising frontier basin with significant oil potential and builds on Statoil's exploration strategy of access at scale,” says Nick Maden, senior vice president for Statoil's exploration activities in the Western Hemisphere.“The position strengthens and develops our global exploration portfolio. We are enthusiastic about this opportunity and look forward to working with Eni, Sasol and ENH to explore for hydrocarbons offshore Mozambique.” says Maden.Source: Statoil  In the beginning, I was forthright with you propecia before and after has changed my subsistence. Statoil's wet gas compressor starts operation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUOgK7xyqQ4 Statoil with partners Petoro and OMV have started the world’s first wet gas compression on the seabed of the North Sea Gullfaks field. The unique technology will increase recovery by 22 million barrels of oil equivalent (oe) and extend plateau production by around two years from the Gullfaks South Brent reservoir.Statoil is the first company to apply subsea gas compression.Subsea compression has stronger impact than conventional platform-based compression. It is, furthermore, an advantage that the platform avoids increased weight and the extra space needed on the platform for a compression module.Subsea compression is an important technological leap to further develop the concept of a subsea factory. The advantage of a wet gas compressor is that it does not require gas and liquid separation before compression, thereby simplifying the system considerably and requiring smaller modules and a simpler structure on the seabed. The system consists of a 420-tonne protective structure, a compressor station with two five-megawatt compressors totalling 650 tons, and all equipment needed for power supply and system control on the platform.Extensive preparations had been made on Gullfaks C before the subsea compressor could be started, including modifications and preparation of areas as well as installation of equipment.Learn more by clicking here In the ...

Giant oil field off Norway approved

The Norwenian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy approved the plan for the development and operation for Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea as well as the associated plans for installation and operation of pipelines and power supply from shore. The Johan Sverdrup oil field will be developed in several phases. Phase one consists of four bridge-linked platforms, in addition to three subsea water injection templates. The ambition is a recovery rate of 70%, allowing for advanced technology for increased oil recovery (IOR) in future phases. The phase one development has a production capacity in the range of 315,000-380,000 barrels per day. First oil is planned for late 2019.“We are on schedule in the Johan Sverdrup development. The project activities will now be stepped up, and more contracts will be awarded in the autumn. Last week the first piece of the Johan Sverdrup development, the pre-drilling template, was installed on the field in the North Sea.  In addition the construction of the first jacket has started at Kværner Verdal. Contracts worth more than NOK 40 billion have been awarded so far in the development, 75 percent of which have been landed by suppliers with Norwegian invoice addresses,” says Øivind Reinertsen, senior vice ...
