Watch: Drug traffickers rescue Spanish border agents

Three Spanish border agents have been rescued by suspected drug smugglers after a vessel collision sent the officers into the water and left their boat running in an uncontrolled turn. In fact, as Spain’s Guardia Civil reported, on the morning of Friday, 4 October, a boat operated by Guardia Civil officers crashed with a RIB go-fast launch carrying four suspected drug traffickers, during an operation off the coast of Malaga.

Mexico busts 49kg cocaine hidden in cargo vessel in Altamira port

The Mexican Naval Forces busted two packages containing cocaine from a cargoship in Altamira port, Mexico. According to the navy, the forces located 49 kg among iron ore at the carrier’s cargo hold. The Cyprus-flagged general cargo vessel arrived at the port of Altamira on September 5 from Colombia’s Barranquilla port. 

UK authorities seize biggest ever heroin haul

The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) seized a record amount of heroin from a containership at the Felixstowe Port following an international investigation. The UK NCA discovered about 1.3 tonnes of the class A drug. 

Large heroin seizure from container in Port of Felixstowe

British authorities seized approximately 398 kilograms of heroin in a container at the Port of Felixstowe on 2 August, in what is claimed to be one of the largest ever heroin seizures in the UK. The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) had identified a container ship suspected of carrying drugs en route to Antwerp.
