Carnival Corporation issued a statement presenting the company's forecasts for the future amid the coronavirus outbreak, highlighting that the virus spread may have a financial impact on the companies earnings in 2020.

Meyer Turku shipyard announced the float-out of the coming flag-ship of Carnival Cruise line ‘Mardi Gras’. The new ship will be the largest one in the Carnival fleet, featuring 180,000 GT. It will be delivered later in 2020.

Carnival informed the USCG on January 2 that the cruise ship Carnival Elation accidentally released 6,000 gallons of gray water into the harbor at Port Canaveral, Florida. The incident took place during routine deballasting at the pier. 

Carnival Cruise Lines officially announced that the scheduled delivery of the cruise ship "Mardi Gras" will eventually be delayed. Specifically, the LNG-powered cruise vessel's launch has been extended from August to late October 2020.

A video circulated through social media depicts the collision of two Carnival cruise ships at Cozumel island, Mexico, on Friday. Six passengers were slightly injured and went to the Carnival Glory medical center.

The National Transportation Safety Board issued an accident report concerning the cruise ship "Carnival Horizon", which in attempts to maneuvre its entrance into berth no. 2 at Manhattan Cruise Terminal’s Pier 88 in New York City, New York, its bow struck the southwest corner of adjacent Pier 90.
