Siemens has announced that its scope of supply for APM Terminals MedPort Tangier includes the electrical and automation systems as well as the engineering and commissioning of 32 automated stacking cranes deployed in 16 intelligent yard blocks, which will be delivered in cooperation with innovative crane manufacturer Hans Künz GmbH, Austria.

Originally developed for military applications, Wärtsilä's new helicopter guidance software technology is based on the company’s well known Nacos Platinum navigation system. The Guidance has been further developed to suit marine applications, notably in the mega yacht and cruise ship segments.

The ‘roboat’ project seeks to design and test the world's first fleet of autonomous boats in the city of Amsterdam. Partners announced their plans to start a five-year trial of the vessels from 2017 to give the multi-purpose boats all sorts of interesting tasks for the busy waterways.
