Enagás, Spanish LNG operator, stated that it has implemented additional measures and activated its COVID-19 contingency plan to continue their normal operations, following the COVID-19 outbreak.
Specifically, the company reported that one employee at its Madrid head office has been positively tested for COVID-19, leading to closing the floor of the building where he worked, as well as a number of common spaces as a preventive measure.
Given that the Ministry of Health and the Community of Madrid issued the declaration of a situation of “reinforced containment”, the company activated its contingency plan to make sure that the operations will continue normally at its facilities and gas infrastructure.
Moreover, when it comes to the physical presence of employees and the importance of ensuring the continuity of the operation, the Contingency Plan includes specific measures such as:
- staff mobilization
- reorganization of shifts and reserves
- intensification of cleaning and disinfection
- coordination with contingency plans implemented by critical service contractors
- identification and acquisition of critical material, among other actions.
In addition to the guidelines published by the Madrid health authorities, Enagás has already prohibited the travel of its employees as far as possible and has also postponed scheduled events, training courses and in-house conferences involving travel.
Concluding, the company ensured that
The Gas System is functioning normally and the planned operation plans are being followed.
