WHO declared the outbreak in Nigeria and Senegal has come to an end
Although WHO has advised that Nigeria and Senegal have overcome Ebola outbreak, the Skuld P&I Club recommends operators to ensure that the ship’s crew should continue to practice high standards of personal health care and hygiene and that increased standards developed in response to the outbreak continue to be maintained on board vessels.
As the virus continues to significantly affect Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, it is important for members calling at West Africa to be alive to the issues and risks that have arisen from the outbreak. The Association would repeat its earlier advices and recommend to operators to keep themselves closely informed about the developments.
