US Coast Guard crews rescued six boaters on Sunday, October 7, after their vessel became disabled 38-miles east of Savannah. There were no reported injuries.
US Coast Guard Sector Charleston received notification and launched a USCG Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew. The Dolphin crew located the vessel and vectored in a Coast Guard Station Tybee 45-foot Response Boat- Medium crew to their location.
Boaters on the vessel had activated their personal locating beacon (PLB) to contact the US Coast Guard.
There are no reported injuries and all boaters had life jackets.
The RBM crew is currently towing the vessel to a Lazaretto Creek marina.
