MPA Singapore signed agreement with the Ports and Harbours Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan (MLIT), for collaboration in ports sustainable development on the sidelines of the International Symposium on LNG Bunkering, in Yokohama.
Issues included in the collaboration are the increase of the sizes of container vessels, the restructuring of shipping lines, IMO tightening regulations on ship emissions as well as the promotion of LNG bunkering in the region.
In particular, Andrew Tan, Chief Executive, MPA Singapore, said that the agreement will include work with leading ports such as Yokohama to promote LNG bunkering in the region.
