The crew is reported to have been rescued
A Singapore-registered asphalt tanker was reported to have sunk off the east coast of Pulau Bintan, Indonesia this afternoon.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said today it was informed that the ship “AB9” was listing about 3.10pm, and subsequently sank about 5pm.
At the time of the incident, the vessel was reported to be on her way from here to Sumbawa, Indonesia, MPA said.
There were 14 crew, all Thai nationals, on board the tanker. They were reported to have been rescued by the Indonesian navy, the authority added.
