Royal Caribbean Cruises ordered a third Icon Class ship for delivery in 2025. The agreement to build a third ship was placed with shipbuilder Meyer Turku. When completed, the vessel will join sister Icon Class ships, which are set to be delivered in 2022 and 2024.
Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class ships will accommodate about 5,000 passengers and they will be powered by a combination of LNG and fuel cell technology.
Commenting on the new order, Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, said that:

In addition, Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International, mentioned that the addition of a third order showcases that with the innovative design and energy-efficient technology and engineering, Icon class will be a game changer.
This order is now waiting financing.
