An Indian cargo ship, with 11 crew onboard, was boarded and hijacked by pirates, off the coast of Somalia, on April 1st. According to ICC, the vessel is currently inside Somali coastal waters, between Hobyo and El Hur.
In particular, the ship, that is said to be a dhow, was en route from Dubai to Bosasso, Puntland region, in Somalia, when it was seized, Reuters reports.
The incident is the second of its type to occur in Somali waters the last month. Another such attack, that was reported in an oil tanker, off the north coast of Puntland, on March 13, consisted the first such seizure of a vessel since 2012.
The 11 crew members are all of Indian origin. The EU naval force currently conducts a research operation.
