According to GAC, pilot Services in Hong Kong are being resumed from 17 September, after the departure of former Typhoon Mangkhut. Priority is being given to container ships berthing at Kwai Chung/Tsing Yi Terminals.
Hong Kong Observatory issued No.1 Standby Signal local time, replacing the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal. Following this, tankers and other general cargo ships are expected to resume.

Due to the typhoon, more than 60 people have reportedly lost their lives in the Philippines, because of landslides and heavy rain. What is more, the Philippine Coast Guard informed that hundreds of passengers remain in ports on board passenger vessels and motor bancas.
