The Office of Naval Intelligence has issued its Piracy Analysis and Warning Weekly (PAWW) Report for 25 – 31 August 2016 . According to the report, pirate and maritime crime activity in East and West African waters is at a low level. There were no reported suspicious incidents during the past week.

In West Africa there was one reported bombing against oil infrastructure during this past week.

1. NIGERIA: On 30 August, the newly formed Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM) group said in a statement that they attacked a Nigerian Petroleum Development Company oil pipeline, near Oteri, in the southern oil-producing Delta State.
