The Office of Naval Intelligence has issued its Piracy Analysis and Warning Weekly (PAWW) Report for 10 – 16 March 2016. According to the report, pirate and maritime crime activity in East African waters is at a low level. There were no reported maritime crime incidents during this past week. Pirate and maritime crime activity in West African waters is at a medium level. There was one attack and one suspicious approach reported during this one-week period.

- NIGERIA: On 11 March, eight pirates in a boat approached an underway tanker 108 nm southwest of the Bayelsa coast.
- NIGERIA: On 11 March, a vessel reported being fired upon 72 nm southwest of the Bayelsa coast.
- ST LUCIA: On 2 March, three robbers, armed with a pistol, a machete, and a club, boarded an anchored sailing yacht in the harbor at Soufriere.
- INDIA: On 28 January, six robbers in a small boat boarded an anchored product tanker in the Kandla Outer Anchorage.
