The container ship ‘MSC Arushi R.’ experienced troubles on October 17, while it was sailing on the West Scheldt, near Hansweert, in Netherlands. The troubles were probably caused by mechanical failure.
The container ship experienced the problems while it was going to Wilhelmshaven from Antwerp.
Due to the failure, the ship remained still in the channel for some time, while a number of tugs came on the scene to hold the ship in place.
The MSC Arushi R. anchored while its crewmembers were trying to solve the problem, which they achieved. The ship continued its sailing during the afternoon, heading again for Wilhelmshaven in Germany.
The incident did not affect the shipping traffic.
