Safety Convention Amendment & Load Line Amendment Regulations 2014
MPA Singapore has issued Shipping Circular No.11/2014 to inform the industry on the entering into force ofthe Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 andMerchant Shipping (Load Line) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International MaritimeOrganisation (IMO) had, on 30 November 2012, adopted amendments toChapter II-1, II-2, III and forms of certificates and records of equipment containedin the appendix to the annex, of the International Convention for the Safety of Lifeat Sea 1974, as amended, by Resolution MSC.338(91) and MSC.344(91).
The MSC had also adopted amendments to Chapter III of Annex I of theInternational Convention on Load Lines, 1966, as modified by the Protocol of1988 (LL 88) by Resolution MSC.345(91).
The Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations2014, and Merchant Shipping (Load Line) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 whichgives effect to the Resolutions, enter into force on 1 July 2014.
