A German passenger from the ferry cruise ship Color Magic was found dead after falling overboard off Strømstad, in the North Sea, in the afternoon hours of Wednesday.
Following notification at about 7:30 pm, Swedish Maritime Rescue Center sent Rescue Helicopter Rygge to Skagerak, to search for a man overboard from the cruise ship.
Shortly before 20:00 pm, a rescue helicopter discovered a man in the sea, who was taken to hospital in Norway but declared dead.
The discovery was made at. 19.54 and the person was taken to hospital in Norway.
The incident occurred as the Color Magic was heading from Oslo south towards Kiel.
Several vessels participated in the search and rescue operation, comprising Swedish and Norwegian forces, the Swedish Maritime Rescue Center informed.
There were also several Norwegian fishing boats in the area which assisted in the exploration.
